The store has a wood face, ‘green roof, and is surrounded with trees and grass banks to make it less visible   The wood face will make use of re-cycled off cuts, reducing waste   There will be automated re-cycling facilities, so you can bring paper, carriers, cardboard glass metal and plastic, without having to sort it   We aim to make some of the store’s power, using wind turbines   Planting around the site will use smaller species of trees and shrubs, to avoid shading nearby gardens   Larger trees will shield the service yard form the nearby open space   The planting will be mostly native, to encourage biodiversity and ecological interest   The tree planting along the road frontage will include some ‘avenue’ type planting, to improve the character of the road corridor   The service yard had a plinth made from local stone   The junction of Exeter Road and Sandy Lane will have signals to ensure safe crossing for pedestrians   Of the 259 parking spaces, 14 will be reserved for disabled shoppers and 10 fro parents with young children   Many people live within walking distance. We will improve paths to make it easy and safe
